Getting started

Connect a Gmail or Google Workspace mailbox

Outsquid connects to Gmail and Google Workspace with Google sign-in. You never give Outsquid your Google password.

Connect

  1. Go to Mailboxes and click Connect mailbox.
  2. Choose Gmail.
  3. Sign in with the Google account you want to send from, and allow the requested access.
  4. You're returned to Outsquid and the mailbox appears in the list.

If the sign-in window doesn't open, allow pop-ups for Outsquid in your browser and try again.

What Outsquid can access

PermissionWhy
Send email (gmail.send)Send the emails in your campaigns from this mailbox
Read email (gmail.readonly)Find replies to your campaign emails and show them in your Outsquid inbox
Email address (userinfo.email)Know which mailbox you connected

Outsquid only uses this access to send your campaigns and bring in their replies. See the Privacy Policy for the details.

Sending limits

Google limits how much one mailbox can send: roughly 500 emails a day for a personal Gmail account and 2,000 a day for Google Workspace. Outsquid keeps each mailbox well under its own daily and hourly limits, spaces emails out, and starts new mailboxes slowly. For more volume, connect more mailboxes rather than pushing one harder.

Reconnecting

If Google stops accepting Outsquid's access — for example after a password change, or if access was removed in your Google account — the mailbox shows an error and you get an email asking you to reconnect. Its pending emails move to another active mailbox in the same campaign, so the campaign keeps going. Open Mailboxes, open the mailbox and click Reconnect account.

Removing access

Disconnect the mailbox in Outsquid, or remove Outsquid from your Google account's third-party access.
